We are pleased to announced the first ever symposium on integrated cancer care focusing on the vast applications of Chinese medicine. We have invited four world renown experts to speak in Seattle October 30 through November 1. They are Misha Cohen, Michael McCulloch, Tai Lahans and Daniel Altschuler.
Topics will focus on various uses of herbal medicine including the following:
Misha Cohen - virally-caused cancers in general; HBV, HCV and liver cancer and issues re: integration within conventional medical systems and pearls of treatment = 4 hours
Michael McCulloch - focusing in lung cancers, Michael will cover conventional and Chinese medicine approaches to treatment and how they intertwine; Chinese research studies on integrated lung cancer treatment and what has been found to work well through a meta-analysis of those studies; and results from long term follow-up studies at the Pine Street Clinic utilizing the Chinese outcomes in 235 NSCLC patients and 193 CRC patients.
Tai Lahans - will speak on prevention in general; trying to frame the many facets of causation in cancers in general - genetics, lifestyle, diet, exercise, environmental impacts leading to a huge rise in the incidence of cancers in the developed world in the 20th century. Or CRC from diagnosis to prevention of recurrence through general info and a case.

Daniel Altschuler has yet to determine his subject. We hope to give an overview of cancers through the conference but also to offer a deeper discussion than thsi is what you see and this is what you do. We hope to encourage practitioners to treat these patients, to empower them with the skills to do so, and to empower them with the skills and language to interface with conventional providers.
